A note about colour — please read before ordering
Traditional Sungudi sarees may release some colour during the initial washes, depending on the dyeing process. Actual colours may also appear slightly different from photographs due to lighting and screen settings. You may also notice slight sand marks, as Sungudi sarees are traditionally dyed and dried in sand under sunlight. Minor variations in colour, pattern placement and texture are natural characteristics of handcrafted textiles.
Care instructions
- First wash: Soak in cold water with a handful of rock salt for 15–20 minutes to help reduce colour bleeding.
- Wash separately: Hand wash alone using mild shampoo or liquid detergent. Avoid washing machines and harsh bleach.
- Drying: Gently squeeze out excess water without wringing and dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid prolonged soaking: These sarees are made from fine threads and should be handled gently.
A word on handcrafted pieces
