10+ Vintage Photos from the Temple Town of Madurai
As someone that appreciates memoirs of a time long gone, there’s little time I spend outside of my vintage bubble, where everything is shrouded in a grainy filter that catches imperfections and freezes memories in place. From priceless brass and bronze collections that have been passed on as heirlooms to black and white portraits that sit in a wooden box on my dresser, the vintage world always has me enraptured.
There are times when I can find something gorgeous from the past that can easily be added to my collection. However, there are times when I can only cherish them from afar, say, stunning finds from ancient civilizations, scripts scribed on palm leaves, or even vintage photographs and lithographs.
Behind the sepia and greyscale filters, they speak, quick and loud, into my conscience, prodding me to think about what a time it was! That’s the magic that makes me wanna take snaps even now. I want to capture moments to leave behind for someone else to find.
While that may still take time to achieve, I know of a few vintage photos from the temple town of Madurai that already take me on a tour of the past!
So go on and reminisce about it all!

After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, even more, if it is historic. On the other hand, perusing through old albums and finding myself in settings that no longer exist today is a refreshing experience that I save for doing only after a long day of work or during a dull weekend. Somehow, it feels as though the characters in the pictures speak to me. As if they have stories to tell and glances to share instantly. They rush as if they have very little time until they lose my attention or are wrapped back and stowed away in a dark, dingy box. So they make their presence known.
They make it known to anyone that is willing to look beyond the sepia stained paper and the silverfish-infested albums. That is, anyone willing to learn of the story.
