Description
This exquisite paan box from the yesteryears makes for a charming addition to your home decor arrangements! Exceptionally crafted in brass, this vintage piece has a circular form with a beautiful dome-shaped lid. The handle atop is fixed to a gorgeous brass motif and is riveted into the top of the piece. The box is divided into two compartments on the inside, of which one is a simplistic round box in the center and the second is the surrounding space. The box in the center has a snug fitting lid and can be used to store small pieces of betelnut, cardamom and other aromatics. The larger surrounding space can be used to hold tools, betel leaves and small jars of lime or sugar. The domed lid is also engraved in beautiful concentric patterns that add to the aesthetic appeal of the piece! A rich patina is seen dispersed over the surface, adding to its vintage charm!
This bespoke piece has been procured from Kumbakonam and is estimated to be between 70 and 80 years of age.
