Whether it’s a huge house or small apartment, the entrance foyer is the first thing that visitors see when they walk inside your house. Let’s learn how to do an antique indian home entrance decoration.

If you are an antique decor enthusiast like me then you would always want to showcase your decor right away when people enter your home. I don’t have big fancy antique items and I am going to show you a simple way with an antique indian home decoration and styling.

Furniture

Firstly you would require a table in the entry way, it can be anything that you own or you can buy one from the local furniture stores. Make sure it is bit long and tall as it will add an elegance to the room. Mine is a console table for drawers which I use for storing my stationary. It is made from sheesham wood and has an antique look 🙂 I pushed it from my work room to the foyer.

Pick a Pallette

It’s always better to design the foyer with a different pallette from the living room so that it gives a pop of colour. I decided to go with grey, white and brass.

Accents

Now on for the most important step, accents. Accents are like the soul of the antique indian home entrance decoration and will give  a personal touch to the entry way. I have used the following accents, you can use the ones you have.

Books

Books always play an important role in decor as they help ground the accents and give a texture to the style. You can choose the books that are hard bound and in same colour.

Personal items

A photograph would be a nice touch to the books, this black and white photo is of my husband with his mom and dad.

Tray/basket

A tray or basket will help in grounding and also to organize the accents in a simple way. I have used a bamboo tray, you can try anything that you have like cane, jute or even pretty cloth ones.

Candles

Candles light up any space and no wonder they add a charm to the foyer also. My stash of candles are mostly vanilla ones as I love their moody and elegant smell. I have added one from fabindia and one from amazon

Plants

I love plants and every corner of my home has a plant 🙂 Here I have added an indoor plant in mason jar, mason jar gives a height and elegance to the entryway.

Brass elements

Brass is the new gold and I simply love my brass collection, this dancing lady is a local buy but can be bought from amazon also, check here

Accessories

I have placed a white plate to hold some of antique keys of our home. You can add a small antique tray or bowl to hold the keys.
