Pallanguzhi
Pallanguzhi is an antique strategy-based board game played by two players on a hardwood board with a total of fourteen trenches. The name “pallanguzhi” is derived from the Tamil word “pathinaalam kuzhi,” which means “several pits,” literally describing the appearance and the nature of this mancala game.
The designs of some of the more antique boards are highly aesthetic and make an impressive addition to your home decor. Many home decor pieces only serve the purpose of being visually pleasing to the eye, but a vintage board, like the ones we have to offer, can also serve as a great pastime for your family & friends.
The game of pallanguzhi involves the use of tokens. Cowry shells, and small stones are all commonly used as game tokens. Since cowry shells and beautiful stones themselves are ornaments, they too, add great beauty to a pallanguzhi board in a way that subtly fits into your room’s decor without overwhelming the viewer.
