This adorable mini lota is a piece that has been well crafted in brass, leaning away from traditional design owing to the sharp ribbed bowl form as opposed to its smoothened round counterparts. The lota stands on a circular base that tapers upwards to form the bowl on the piece. Small linear designs are etched around the circumference and add character to this beautiful drinking vessel. The lota has a cinched in neck that travels upwards into a flared, square rim to allow for a comfortable drinking experience. A faint patina envelopes the piece, adding to its vintage charm.
This beautiful piece has been procured from Kumbakonam and is estimated to be between 50 and 60 years of age.
Styling and usage: This adorable lota makes for a wonderful bud vase to hold the day’s floral forages. It also makes for a great decor accent amidst pre-existing arrangements around the home.
Significant feature: linear engravings, sharp bowl form, excellent brass craftsmanship.
