The vintage bullock cart is an iron crafted piece that has seen years of use and bears proof of the same on it’s surfaces. The form is kept simple and as true as possible to the design as with traditional bullock carts. The back of the bullock cart features an iron step and the cart has a simplistic domed shelter. The wheels too have minimalistic detailing that is painted over. All in all, this was once a vibrant piece painted with bright and beautiful colours that would have appealed to any child and can be restored to it’s former vibrancy to this day with a few fresh coats of paint!
This nostalgic piece has been procured from Kumbakonam and is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years of age.
Dust off residue/dirt with a soft brush
– For metals, clean with soft muslin cloth and warm water
– For thorough cleaning, use mild soap/ well diluted vinegar or tamarind paste. This helps retain the natural patination on the piece.
– For metal artefacts, leave in direct sunlight.
