This radiant Marapachi Raja from decades past makes for quite the addition to your Golu decor arrangements. Exceptionally crafted in brass, this beautiful figurine features the Raja, with well detailed adornments and standing on an ornate pedestal. The hands are away from the sides allowing for traditional fabric decorations to be wrapped around the piece. A rich patina envelopes the figurine, adding to it’s vintage charm!
Marapachi dolls embody a couple, oftentimes a king and queen. At an age where photographs were yet to become widespread, these dolls became a memoir of the newlyweds’ marriage. Marapachi dolls are extensively used in festive decorations during the Navratri festival.
This piece has been procured from Kumbakonam and is estimated to be between 40 and 50 years of age.
