Description
This beautiful vintage peacock surahi makes for a charming addition to your tablescapes and kitchen shelves alike. Exceptionally crafted in brass, this beautiful piece features a wide bowl that is elevated on a conical base. The bowl is narrowed at the top and has a beautiful spout jutting out from the side. The spout rises up to form the neck of the peacock and its open beak acts as the mouth of the piece. The feathers are beautifully lined along the neck and radiate backwards to wrap around the bowl of the piece. The base too has simple motifs and the rim is slightly flattened with small linear etchings to complement the designs on the surahi. A rich patina envelopes the surfaces, adding to the vintage charm!
This beauty has been procured from Phalodi and is estimated to be between 40 and 50 years of age.
