Description
This simple, vintage lamp is a decades old piece that makes for a unique addition to your collection. Cast in brass, the lamp has a simple form and stands on a flared, circular base. The lamp column is small and features beaded and ribbed designs. The lamp well is deep and has three pointed wick indentations that accommodate a single wick each. An axis juts out from the center of the well and is covered in a rich patina. The lamp surfaces are deeply texturised owing to the casting method used.
This brass piece has been procured from Kumbakonam and is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years of age.
Styling and usage: This kuthu vilakku can be used in the pooja room, or during auspicious occasions. It also makes for a wonderful addition to corner arrangements or outdoor spaces around the home.
